Maestro: Larry Levan & early DJ culture

Here is something we would like to share with you! Documentary brings you early years of the NYC underground DJ/dance club culture, pioneered largely by gay, black & hispanic men. Basically a tribute to Larry Levan, David Mancuso, Frankie Knuckles, Nicky Siano, Tony Humphries. Featuring the The Loft, Paradise Garage. Displaying a more personal and candid approach, Maestro shows the true history of people through a realistic creative aesthetic. Tracing the underground’s dance origin, Maestro imparts a real understanding of this intense lifestyle, and the lives that were lived and died for. Not merely nostalgia, Maestro is a mirror of the music and experiences it chronicles. We found the whole movie in 9 party on youtube and you can check it directly in this post. There is also list of tracks from soundtrack. So if you are true fan of house music, you’re gonna love this! Enjoy!
